							Obituary 
							Joseph G. Mintjal, 92, of Lincoln, 
							passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at OSF Richard 
							L. Owen Hospice House in Peoria. 
 No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation 
							Rites have been accorded.
 
 Joseph G. Mintjal was born on January 8, 1930, to 
							loving parents Joseph P. and Christine R. Debelak 
							Mintjal. On October 5, 1968, his made the best move 
							of his life when he was united in marriage to Sudie 
							M. Givan. She survives.
 
 He is also survived by his son: Jeffrey L. Mintjal; 
							four stepdaughters: Debra Ryan, Diana Froschauer, 
							Dawn Busick, and Denise Moore; eleven grandchildren; 
							seven great-grandchildren; and cousins Theresa and 
							Les Richert.
 
 He is preceded in death by his parents and one 
							sister, Donna Pell.
 
 Joseph graduated from the Lincoln Community High 
							School in 1947. He then joined the United States Air 
							Force in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1952. 
							Enjoying travel, Joe lived and worked in Kankakee 
							before moving to Las Vegas in 1954 where he learned 
							pipeline welding. He followed pipelines around the 
							country (and Mexico). He returned to Lincoln in 
							1965, going to work for the Credit Bureau of Lincoln 
							which he purchased in 1968. He sold the company to 
							C.R.I. in 1998.
 
 Joe served as the major fundraiser for Congressman 
							Edward Madigan through his time in public service. 
							He built museum-quality wooden ship models. He loved 
							to party, give parties, travel, and stay involved in 
							local politics and community development. Joseph 
							felt that he had done it all and looked forward to 
							leaving and meeting his friends on the other side.
 
 He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, 
							Knights of Columbus Council #1250 since 1947 as a 
							3rd and 4th degree Knight.
 
 Memorials may be made to the Holy Family Catholic 
							Church Interior Renovation Fund or OSF Richard L 
							Owen Hospice House in Peoria.
 
 Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of funeral 
							arrangements.
