Last Saturday was the second week of the LMH Market at the Logan County
Fairground, and the celebrity bell ringer for the day was Logan County
Tourism Director Alice Roate.
Roate arrived before 8 a.m. with her good friend Eric Nguyen, left, very
good friend Jake McCray, right, and her best friend Fitz the dog.
A couple of minutes before 8 a.m., Market Manager Jamie Jones started a
live feed and introduced Roate, then at 8 a.m. sharp Roate did the
honors of ringing the bell.

Then, she had her friends stayed at the market to lead a lap around the race
track for ‘Moving at the Market.’
Jones explained that the moving at the market activity will be weekly throughout
the market season. Those who are interested in taking a lap with the celebrity
bell ringer will get a special gift.
Each Saturday in May the gift will be a free one month membership to the Lincoln
YMCA. In June the gift will be Market Tokens that can be spent on merchandise
offered by the many vendors at the market.
Jones says that it is a fun activity that encourages exercise and rewards those
who take the lap.
Also, new last week was the opening of the café at the Market. This year the
café is being manned by Ami-Gos Tacos, who were already quite busy early
Saturday morning preparing food for hungry shoppers.
The LMH Market is open each Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon located in the first
two exhibit barns across from the grandstands at the Logan County Fairground in
Lincoln.
