			DETAILS:  
			Memorial Day will be observed in Atlanta on Monday, May 30th as our 
			community pauses to remember and reflect upon the service and 
			sacrifices made by veterans.  We will be recognizing all veterans 
			who have served and are currently serving in the military.  We 
			respectfully request the presence of living veterans to attend this 
			event to honor their fallen comrades.  
			
			The Veterans Memorial Ceremony and Atlanta Band Concert will begin 
			at 9:45 a.m. on the lawn of the Atlanta Public Library, 100 Race 
			Street.  This year's speaker will be Former Captain Miguel Ortiz. 
			 
			
			There will be NO bleacher seating this year.  Please bring a 
			chair for individual use during the ceremony.   
			
			Other activities scheduled:   
			
			- The Methodists Men's Group will be serving breakfast between 7 
			a.m. - 10 a.m. at the Atlanta Fire Department, 207 SE Vine Street. 
			The  
			
			- Audra's Dance Studio Dancers will be performing in front of the 
			library after the Memorial Day Ceremony.  
			
			- The Atlanta Public Museum, 100 SE Race Street, will be open from 9 
			a.m. until 3 p.m. with new displays of Military memorabilia from the

			 The guest speaker will be Rev. J. Cravens.  The Lincoln American 
			Legion 263 Color Guard will present the colors and salute.

			The speaker will be Chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel) Karen J. 
			Diefendorf, U S Army, retired. She has served at commands worldwide 
			and the pentagon.     
 The event will be held outside if the weather. Is good and seating 
			will be furnished or you may bring lawn chairs.
 
			
			Following the service the traditional ham and bean lunch will be 
			served in the banquet hall.
