On Monday, in honor of Halloween, volunteers
of the Meals on Wheels Senior Nutrition program administered by the
Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois delivered meals in
costume.

Volunteer Tonita Reifsteck routinely delivers meals
for the program. On Monday, she was dressed as a witch and called
herself the witch driving the broom. Misty Nieman, dressed as Little
Red Riding Hood, joined her on her deliveries.
Reifsteck and Nieman reported that the day was filled with smiles as
the recipients of the meal deliveries were delighted by the
appearance of Little Red Riding Hood and the witch. The two ladies
heard many comments, from "It's not every day that Little Red Riding
Hood brings me my meals!" to "Made my day" and "So cute!"[to top of second
column] |
Some of the people visited
wanted to have their picture taken in a "selfie" with Little Red
Riding Hood. And the Halloween character delivered "Ghost Treats" to
each person she visited.
