Obituary
Kenneth F. Schwab, 85, of Lincoln,
passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at The
Christian Village.
Kenneth was born on September 13, 1937, in Owasso,
MI, the son of William Kenneth and Nellie (Hoke)
Schwab. He married Mary “Margo” Culp on August 30,
1958, in Webster Groves, MO.
He is survived by his wife, Margo; his daughters,
Kimberly (Kevin) Hubbard, Kathy Mara, Kendall (Tad)
Martin, Courtney (Chris) Patel; and ten
grandchildren.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, and a
brother, Stanley.
Kenneth graduated from the University of Illinois
with a degree in Agriculture. He was also part of
the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in
Lincoln, where he served as a Deacon and Elder,
taught adult Sunday School, and was a mentor to many
in the youth group. Kenneth served on the Board of
St. Clara’s Manor, was a life-time Elk member,
enjoyed the Lincoln Rotary, and served on the
Chamber of Commerce Board. After selling Area
Disposal, Kenneth became the first Logan, Mason, and
Menard County Solid Waste Recycling Coordinator. He
was president of Illinois Solid Waste. |
Kenneth loved football, arm
wrestling, boating, traveling, and especially his
annual Kentucky Lake Family week with three to four
generations present.
We, the Schwab Family, would like to thank all the
staff and caregivers at The Christian Village and
Safe Haven Hospice for their care and compassion,
and to Brittney Cosby for her exceptional care to
Kenneth and all our family.
Services for Kenneth will be held at 11:30 a.m. on
Monday, November 7, 2022, at First Presbyterian
Church in Lincoln. A visitation will take place
prior from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln.
Memorials may be made in Kenneth’s name to First
Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, or the Alzheimer’s
Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
