The Illinois Fighting Illini used some good
spurts to pull away from the UMKC Kangeroos and rolled to an
86-48 victory last night at home. The Illini received their Big
Ten Championship banner and rings from last year’s league title
before the contest.
Dain Dainja led the way with another double double as he tossed
in 20 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Terrence Shannon, Jr.
was also a part of four Illini in double figures as he brought
home 14 points. And Jayden Epps and Skyy Clark threw in 13 and
10, career highs for both!
The Illini forced 24 turnovers and held UMKC to 31% shooting on
the night.
One of the Illini’s good spurts led to a comfortable 39-23
halftime advantage. And a game ending 13-4 spurt accounted for
the final margin.
The Illini will host Monmouth on Monday night.
