Service: Graveside Services at the Evergreen Cemetery in Waynesville will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022

Vona J. LaDew, 88, of Delavan, formerly of Waynesville, passed away at her home on Monday, November 7, 2022.

Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Graveside Services at the Evergreen Cemetery in Waynesville will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, with Rev. Tami Werschey-Kessinger officiating.

Vona Jean Moore was born April 3, 1934, in Clinton, the daughter of Ivan S. and Merna Borders Moore. She was united in marriage to Daniel LaDew on December 31, 1954. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1977.

She is survived by her children: Steve (Katherine) LaDew, Sheldon (Linda) LaDew, Laura Smith, and Nathan LaDew; four grandchildren: eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Norma Ingold.

Funeral Director

Vona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.

Vona was a 1952 graduate and valedictorian of Waynesville High School. She retired from Burns & Company where she had worked as office manager. She was of the Methodist Faith. Vona loved to dance so much that she earned the nickname, “Vona Jean, the Dancing Machine.”

Memorials may be made to her family.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
