The public is invited to Camp Griesheim's Annual Meeting to be held on Sunday, September 15 at 5 p.m. in their main facility in Atlanta, Illinois.  Refreshments and fellowship will follow the meeting.

St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln is sponsoring a Christian Carnival on Sunday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The activities will be on the church's parking lot, at the corner of Eighth and Maple streets.

The public is invited. All ages are welcome to join in the games, snacks, songs, stories and more fun -- and win prizes, too -- all for free.

The carnival is sponsored by the St. John Christian Education Ministry.

SPONSOR: Logan County Love
WHO: Open to everyone
DETAILS: Logan County Love will once again provide a free meal to anyone wishing to join. If you are interested, please stop by and introduce yourself as the group would love to see everyone in the community. Come hungry and leave fulfilled. For this month, the meal will include chicken and noodles. If you are unable to drive but would like a meal, call the church, 217-732-6957, between 5 and 6 pm.

Lincoln Christian Church Countdown to Christmas

Please join us for any or all of our upcoming Christmas events. They were designed to bring us closer as a community and to create lasting memories with loved ones as we center on the One who loves us best.

Starting Saturday, December 3rd, we will be hosting a "Hometown Christmas" free event from 4-7pm. There will be carolers, hot cocoa and cookies, horse drawn carriage, Christmas train, Santa's workshop & Crafts,and photos with Santa. All located in and around the church at 204 N. McLean St., in the heart of downtown Lincoln.

On Sunday, December 4th we will begin a sermon series entitled, "Plastic Christmas?" with service3s at 8:15, 9:30 & 10:45 with child care provided. Plus our "Angel Tree Program" kicks off with 85 tags, provided by Youth and Family Solutions, for Christmas presents for needy Logan County area children. All wrapped gifts are due by Sunday, Dec, 11th.

Saturday, December, 10th our Harvest of Talents team will be selling cookies at their annual "Cookie Walk" from 8-11 in the Family Room. All proceeds go to feed hungry people all over the world.
The following Sunday, on December 11th our choirs will come together for "Celebrate! Christmas"; a worship celebration of carols in our Fellowship Center.

December 18th is "Ugly Sweater Sunday". Enough said?...be kind.
Saturday, December 24th, Christmas Eve, join us for our candlelight services at either 4:00 or 6:00 pm in our sanctuary.
 

On Christmas Day we will be having Christmas worship at 8:15 in our sanctuary and 9:30 in the Fellowship Center.


ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH

"Light Up the World with Christ" will be the theme for this year's Lincoln Zone Rally of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) of the Central Illinois District. The rally will be held on September 22. Opening devotions will begin at 9:30 AM led by Rev. Jonathan Buescher.

The Rally Speaker will be Rev. Rodney Blomquist of Taylorville, the CID LCMS Prison/Jail Coordinator.

Rev. Gaylord Spilker, Pastoral Counselor, will share a Bible study based on the theme.

Zone President Deloris Blessman will conduct the business meeting. Zone Vice-President Sharol Bolton will direct a Christian Life program based on the rally theme. Lunch will be served, followed by servant projects.

The LWML is an auxiliary of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod which proclaims the saving faith of Jesus Christ. The LWML Central Illinois District is currently funding mission projects in the United States and around the world.
