Froebe leads the team with a new career-high 39
points
The Lady Railers played their first game of the 2022
Pana Thanksgiving Tournament on Friday night in Pana and they came
away with a pretty dominant win with one of the top players in the
Class of 2024 finishing with a new career high.
Lincoln defeated the Green Wave 76-47 as junior stand-out Kloe
Froebe scored a new career-high of 39 points.
The Lady Railers maintained a 17-12 lead after the first quarter
with Froebe scoring nine points for Lincoln. Jenna Bowman tossed in
four first quarter points.
Lincoln increased that lead by a smidge in the second quarter with
Froebe scoring eight points and Becca Heitzig adding four points.
Lincoln led at the half 32-26.
The Lady Railers added to the lead in the third quarter. This time
Froebe went off for 12 points and Heitzig poured in six points as
the lead grew to 54-39.
Great things continued to happen in the fourth
quarter for the Lady Railers. Two freshmen, Grace Schneider and Mia
Clark, each scored their first Varsity points of their career.
Froebe continued to light up the scoreboard and her 10 points helped
the Lady Railers to the 76-47 win.
Kloe Froebe and Piper Whiteman each had threes for Lincoln.
Meanwhile, the Green Wave picked up right where they left off last
season. Mattoon loves to shoot the three and they sank 12 threes as
a team.
But not even the Green Wave and their threes could put out the Lady
Railers fire.
Three Lady Railers scored in double-figures in the win. Kloe
Froebe’s 39 points were impressive. Froebe was also 6-for-7 from the
free throw line.

Juniors Becca Heitzig and Jenna
Bowman are also going to make a lot of noise this season for the
Lincoln offense. Heitzig finished with 12 points and Bowman finished
with 10 points.
The Lady Railers continue action in the Pana Thanksgiving Tournament
today with a 10:00 a.m. game versus Williamsville. The Lady Railers
then face Gillespie at 3:00 p.m
Lincoln improved their record to 2-0 on the season.
Incidentally, Froebe’s previous career high of 35 points came
against Mattoon last season as the Lady Railers hosted the Green
Wave in a Friday night game at Roy S. Anderson. The Lady Railers won
that contest 65-54 on January 14, 2022.
