The Lincoln Woman’s Club recently hosted a pulled pork fundraiser with food provided by Peggy’s Place in Lincoln.

Ahead of the event, over 60 club members sold tickets or donated to the fundraiser. There were 21 members who volunteered on the evening of the fundraiser and boxed and served over 550 meals in two hours.

Because of the community’s generosity, the club donated 75 meals to local first responders and front-line workers.

Members delivered meals to the Lincoln Police Department, Lincoln Memorial Hospital and the LMH Emergency room, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, and the National Weather Service office in Lincoln.

In addition, the Central Illinois Veterans Commission donated meals for the Lincoln Fire Department and the Lincoln Rural Fire Protection District. Two WC members donated meals to a group home in Lincoln and the Salvation Army Keest Center.

The Lincoln Woman’s Club would like to thank Peggy’s Place for all the staff did to help make the fundraiser an enormous success. In addition, thanks to the public for the generous support for the LWC.
