Jesper Bratt, Dawson Mercer, Damon Severson, Tomas Tatar and
Yegor Sharangovich scored for the Devils, whose 13-game winning
streak matches the mark set by the 2000-01 team that later
reached the Stanley Cup Finals. Vitek Vanecek stopped 28 shots
for the victory.
Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored for the Oilers,
who have alternated losses with wins in their last seven games.
Stuart Skinner recorded 23 saves.
Nugent-Hopkins nearly tied the score 3-3 early in the third
period, when his shot sailed just over the top of the net. The
Devils doubled their lead on the next trip up the ice following
an impressive play by Tatar, whose first shot was deflected by
Skinner. Tatar caught the carom, put the puck down and beat
Skinner at 7:07.
Bruins 5, Lighting 3
Patrice Bergeron recorded his 1,000th NHL point as Boston
equaled its longest winning streak of the season at seven games,
defeating host Tampa Bay.
Bergeron, 37, dished out the secondary assist on Brad Marchand's
second-period tally for his milestone. He became the fourth
Bruin to do so -- joining Ray Bourque (1,506), John Bucyk
(1,339) and Phil Esposito (1,012). He is the eighth active NHL
player to reach that milestone.
David Krejci had a goal and an assist, Nick Foligno, Charlie
Coyle and David Pastrnak scored and Linus Ullmark had 32 saves
for the Bruins. The Lightning's Nicholas Paul scored twice and
Rudolfs Balcers tallied while Pat Maroon had two assists and
Andrei Vasilevskiy made 24 saves.
Flames 5, Flyers 2
Jonathan Huberdeau and Dillon Dube scored in the first period to
stake Calgary to an early lead that it didn't relinquish in a
victory at Philadelphia.
Blake Coleman added a goal and two assists while Rasmus
Andersson and Trevor Lewis also scored for the Flames, who won
for the fourth time in their past five games. Jacob Markstrom
made 23 saves for the win.
Tanner Laczynski scored his first career goal for the Flyers,
who also got a goal from Joel Farabee while extending their
winless streak to seven games (0-5-2). Carter Hart stopped 25
shots.
Islanders 3, Maple Leafs 2 (OT)
Anthony Beauvillier scored at 1:56 of overtime and visiting New
York defeated Toronto. Josh Bailey tied the game for the
Islanders late in the third period, and Beauvillier won it with
a rising wrist shot on a pass from Brock Nelson.
Noah Dobson had a goal and an assist for the Islanders, who
completed their four-game road trip with two wins. Ilya Sorokin
stopped 30 shots.
John Tavares and Auston Matthews scored and Erik Kallgren made
21 saves for the Maple Leafs, who finished a three-game
homestand at 1-0-2.
Jets 4, Hurricanes 3 (OT)
Josh Morrissey scored his second goal of the game 2:10 into
overtime and host Winnipeg responded from an embarrassing
collapse to defeat Carolina.
The Hurricanes rallied with three goals in the last five minutes
of regulation to extend the game. Michael Eyssimont scored his
first NHL goal and Pierre-Luc Dubois had a goal and two assists
for the Jets, who scored once in every period. Blake Wheeler
also had two assists.
Jaccob Slavin put the Hurricanes on the board with his first
goal of the season with 4:48 to play. Andrei Svechnikov, who
assisted on the first goal, delivered Carolina's second goal
with 3:08 left. Martin Necas tied it with 39 seconds left.
Sebastian Aho picked up assists on all three goals.
Predators 4, Coyotes 3 (SO)
Roman Josi and Matt Duchene scored 28 seconds apart to give
Nashville the lead early in the third period, but the Predators
needed a shootout to claim a victory over visiting Arizona.
In the shootout, Cody Glass scored the final goal in the seventh
round for the Predators, who also got a regulation goal from
Matt Duchene. Juuse Saros stopped 24 shots for the win.
Nick Bjugstad had two goals and an assist, Lawson Crouse also
scored and Connor Ingram finished with 42 saves for the Coyotes.
Blues 3, Ducks 1
Justin Faulk scored the decisive power-play goal as host St.
Louis defeated Anaheim for its seventh consecutive victory.
Noel Acciari scored twice for the Blues, including an
empty-netter, and Jordan Binnington made 27 saves.
Cam Fowler scored, and John Gibson made 24 saves for the Ducks,
who lost for the sixth time in seven games.
Avalanche 3, Stars 2 (SO)
Mikko Rantanen scored the only goal in a shootout as Colorado
beat host Dallas to sweep a three-game road trip and win for the
seventh time in eight games.
Cale Makar and Alex Newhook scored in regulation and Rantanen
had an assist for the Avalanche. Alexandar Georgiev made 22
saves through regulation and overtime and two more in the
shootout.
Jason Robertson scored twice for the Stars and Jake Oettinger
turned away 33 shots through regulation and OT, then one more in
the shootout.
Sharks 5, Senators 1
Timo Meier, Matt Nieto and Tomas Hertl scored in the second
period to help San Jose pull away for a win against visiting
Ottawa.
Logan Couture had a goal and an assist, Noah Gregor also scored
and Kaapo Kahkonen made 37 saves for the Sharks, who improved to
2-6-3 in San Jose this season.
Tim Stutzle scored for the Senators, who dropped to 2-9-1 in
their past 12 games. Cam Talbot stopped just 4 of 7 shots before
he was replaced by Anton Forsberg, who finished with 22 saves.
Golden Knights 5, Canucks 4
Alex Pietrangelo scored the go-ahead goal with 5:46 remaining
and William Carrier had the first two-goal game of his career as
Vegas rallied to beat host Vancouver.
Pietrangelo also had two assists for his fourth three-point game
of the season. Mark Stone had a goal and an assist and Reilly
Smith also scored for Vegas, which improved to 15-4-1, matching
the best start after 20 games in franchise history. Logan
Thompson stopped 25 of 29 shots to pick up his 10th win of the
season.
Andrei Kuzmenko had a goal and an assist and Bo Horvat, Elias
Pettersson and Luke Schenn also scored for the Canucks, who had
a two-game winning streak snapped. Quinn Hughes added two
assists and Thatcher Demko made 33 saves.
