The Panthers’ Micah Brockhouse had the hot-hand
in the first quarter. He drained four 3s and added a two-point
field goal to finish with 14 points in the quarter as Delavan
took a 22-0 lead to start the game. The first quarter ended with
the Panthers on top 24-8.
Evan Cooper and Clay Aylesworth combined for 14 points in the
second quarter as the Hilltoppers attempted a comeback. Delavan
held a 38-26 advantage as the two teams headed into the locker
rooms at the half.
The Panthers starting lineup and then some continued to pour in
the points in the third quarter and built a 59-36 lead over
Mount Pulaski. Cooper and Aylesworth accounted for all of the
Hilltoppers points in the third quarter.
With Cooper scoring the only points for Mount Pulaski in the
fourth quarter, the Panthers ran away with the 68-44 victory.
Evan Cooper would finish the game with a career-high 28 points.
Clay Aylesworth hit double-figures for Mount Pulaski with 10
points.
Micah Brockhouse led Delavan with 18 points. Bryson Horning had
16 points for the Panthers.
