Evan Cooper and Clay Aylesworth combined to
score the Hilltoppers first quarter points, but the Tornadoes
were the ones who stormed out to an 11-6 lead.
The Tornadoes continued their whirlwind scoring and held a 34-19
lead at the half.
The Tornadoes continued pouring in buckets in the paint and from
beyond the arc to control the Hilltoppers in the third quarter.
Tri-City/Sangamon Valley had a 53-33 lead over Mount Pulaski
with eight minutes left in the game.
Mount Pulaski was 8-for-10 from the free throw line in the
fourth quarter and Ethan Payne added a field goal, but the
Tornadoes sealed the 66-43 victory.
Three Hilltoppers scored in double-figures with 11 points each:
Clay Aylesworth, Evan Cooper and Gavin Smith.
Mount Pulaski falls to 0-2 on the season.
The Hilltoppers will play Auburn at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night.
