Warrensburg-Latham Lions Club President Terry Howe recently accepted a check for $556 from Rita Scanavino of Warrensburg-Latham Community Outreach. Scanavino, who is also a Lions Club member, said the Outreach organization, which has dissolved, wanted its remaining money to return to the community.

“The money the Lions Club receives always goes back into the community and that’s what Community Outreach tried to do,” explains Scanavino. Outreach provided teacher and classroom supplies in the Warrensburg-Latham School district.

Howe assured Scanavino that the donation will be used to help meet the needs of area residents including, but not limited to, scholarships for Warrensburg-Latham High School seniors and providing food and gift baskets at Christmas for those in need.
