On Saturday morning, the Lady Railers continued
cruising with a 25-6 and 25-12 two-set victory over Springfield
Southeast.
The Lady Railers had more of a challenge versus Mascoutah on
Saturday but still picked up a three-set victory. Lincoln won by
final scores of 25-19, 21-25 and 25-21.
In the match versus Mascoutah, Lincoln’s Becca Heitzig hit a
major milestone in her volleyball career. The junior tallied her
1,000th career dig. Congratulations, Becca!
With the win over Mascoutah, the Lady Railers headed to the
championship match with a 4-0 record. In the championship, they
battled hard with a very good team from Rock Falls. Lincoln
would win the first set 25-18 and eventually drop the final two
sets by scores of 22-25 and 26-28.
There was no all-tournament team for the Riverton Fall Classic,
but the stats below will show the depth and talent of this Lady
Railers team. It was a great team effort, earning second place
with a 4-1 record.
Lincoln will begin this week with an overall 18-5 record.
Next up, the Lady Railers will play at Mattoon on Tuesday in an
Apollo Conference game.
On Thursday the Lady Railers will host Effingham for a Kill
Cancer game at Roy S. Anderson.
