The Lady Railers traveled to Mattoon Tuesday
night and defeated the Green Wave in an Apollo Conference game.
Lincoln won in two sets, 25-13 and 25-12, to improve to 6-2 in
the Apollo Conference.
The Lincoln JV team defeated Mattoon 25-19 and 25-15.
The Lincoln Freshmen also won, 21-16 and 21-18 the final scores.
Peyton Sasse led the Lady Railers with 14 kills in the Varsity
match.
The Lady Railers improved to 19-5 overall on the season.
Lincoln will host Effingham tonight with the Freshman game
starting at 5:00 p.m.
Tonight will also be the Kill Cancer game between the Lady
Railers and the Flaming Hearts. The evening will feature a
silent auction of donated gift baskets and a 50/50 raffle that
will benefit 14 month old Wilson Smith. Smith was diagnosed with
a liver tumor on September 9th. On September 28th, Smith endured
a nine hour surgery to remove part of his liver. It is
anticipated that he will start chemotherapy next week. As long
as Smith feels up to it, the plan is for him to be at the game
tonight.
“Together We Fight” t-shirts were also sold in advance and the
proceeds will benefit the Smith family.
Please come out tonight and join the Lady Railers as they honor
the Smith family.
The silent auction will begin at 4:45 p.m. and close at the
beginning of the Varsity game. The winner of the 50/50 raffle
will be announced before the Varsity game. The winner must be
present.
