Hours before the annual Pink Pumpkin Fundraiser Auction begins, there is a lot of work that goes into the setup of the event, beginning with the gathering of 30 tables and about 50 chairs for auction items and guests.

For the last two years, Illinois American Water has volunteered to do the heavy lifting for that portion of the set up as part of the company’s community service program.

On Thursday, right after noon, four crew members arrived at the Logan County Fairgrounds where they met Karen Hargis. There, the group loaded the tables and chairs onto a wagon provided by the water company.

They then drove the load to Collision Concepts and helped with the unloading.

On Friday morning the crew returned to Collision and gathered up all the tables and chairs and returned them to the fairgrounds.

Thanks to all the volunteers from Illinois American Water. Your contribution to the Pink Pumpkin Fundraiser Auction was priceless.
