In the first week of October, the Lincoln Woman’s
Club spent time at the Central Illinois National Weather Service
offices in Lincoln.
The group and guests spent time touring the facility and hearing
from NWS Warning Coordination Meteorologist Ed Shimon. They learned
that the local NWS provides warnings, forecasts, and other weather
and climate information to the public, media, and emergency
management.
The Woman’s Club will also host a free weather spotter class open to
the public later this month.
