The Wednesday picture for Paint the Paper Pink is Don Peasley. As the Funeral Director at Peasley Funeral Home and the Logan County Coroner, Peasley sees how devastating the loss of life can be for family, regardless of the cause. His hope and desire is that those who have the opportunity to take preventative measures to avoid loss of life would undoubtedly do so.

For women, that means taking good care of yourself, paying attention to changes in your body, and not putting off doctor's visits when something doesn't "feel" right. Breast Cancer is no longer the death sentence it once was, but survival is often dependent upon early detection.

Last week members of the local Marine Corps League installed a new ADA ramp at the Logan County Airport and Heritage in Flight Museum.

Bill Dennis, Bill Stauffer, Michael Downen, and Gene Hickey took on the project and worked through the challenges of a construction style they had not seen before. The ramp was in place in no time, and now visitors with Physical Disabilities can easily get to the museum.

The metal ramp had been donated to the Heritage In Flight Museum some time ago. The league members volunteered to put it together and set it up for the museum.

The Heritage in Flight Museum allows visitors to see the history of aviation as it relates to the military.

The Marine Corps League offers this service to all veterans and other services such as wheelchairs, motorized chairs, and much more. For the volunteers, this type of community service is well worth the effort because it improves the quality of life for our local veterans.
