Sun Ag and Syngenta serve lunch to busy farmers

[October 12, 2022]     On Friday, October 7, employees of Sun Ag and Syngenta hosted a customer appreciation day for local farmers at the Emden elevator providing a sack lunch with pork chops, chips, cookies and water.

For the event, 220 sack lunches were prepared by Sun Ag and Syngenta employees along with volunteers worked hard putting the lunches together.



The sack lunches had messages on them that said “Have a blessed and safe harvest season. Thanks for your business from Sun Ag and Syngenta.”



Drive through lunches were provided to those who were hauling corn to the elevator or came to pick them up for their workers. Others made deliveries to those who were working in the fields and unable to pick up their lunches.



The pork chops were grilled on a smoker by Syngenta’s Sales Agronomist Blake Miller and Sales Representative Kelsey Neville.



In addition to the pork sandwiches, chips and cookies by the Office Manager at Sun Ag’s Tremont location Jamie Baer with help from her daughter Kylee included.

Boxing up the lunches and checking the lists for deliveries were the Emden Sun Ag Office Manager Allison Hoerbert and Sales Agronomist Jim Coop.



Handing out and delivering the lunches were Emden Sun Ag Sales Specialist Darren Haberland and Tremont Sun Ag Sales Agronomist Lane Schweigert.

The employees enjoyed and felt honored by being able to serve farmers during the busy harvest season.

Neville said it was nice to be able to provide a warm meal to farmers while they harvest since they often eat cold lunches in the field.
 


As Coop said, “harvest is stressful, so we like to provide farmers a meal for a day.”

Jamie Baer loves being able take stress off of those preparing meals for one day.

To Hoerbert, it was a chance to bless their customers. She said Sun Ag’s motto is “Let Sun make the difference.”

For Neville, providing the meals was a rewarding experience. Neville said, “we are honored to be able to provide local farmers lunch as a small token of our appreciation not only for their support of our crop protection, but [also for] providing food, fuel and fiber for America.”

When the event was done, Haberland said it was a great day all the way around.
