Visitation: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Friday, October 21, 2022, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln

Service: 11 a.m. Friday at the church

Evelyn “Evie” L. Meyer, 78, of Lincoln, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, at 10:09 a.m. at her son’s home.

Funeral Services for Evelyn will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Rev. Clarence O. Rogers, III officiating. Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery in rural Hartsburg.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Evelyn Louise Beccue was born on March 21, 1944, in Altamont, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Ruth Winter Beccue.

She was united in marriage to Mark E. Meyer on March 21, 1980. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2014.

Surviving Evelyn are her three children: Verl (Stephanie) Prather, Lori Meyer, and Tammy (John) Scully; one sister: Carol Lindstrom; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Mark E. Meyer, and one brother: Eugene Beccue.

Evelyn graduated from the Altamont High School in 1962. She was of the Lutheran faith. She had been employed at Lehn and Fink, Community Action in Lincoln, and Senior Services in Alton. She was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan. She loved taking care of people and Evelyn never met a stranger.

Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
