Lady Railers top the Tornadoes

The Lady Railers hosted Taylorville Tuesday night in an Apollo Conference game and with a three-set win over the Tornadoes, Lincoln finished in second place with a 10-2 record in the conference. Mahomet-Seymour finished in first place with a 12-0 conference record.

On Senior Night versus Taylorville, the Lincoln Varsity team won in three thrilling sets,16-25, 25-23 and 25-22 the final scores.

The Lincoln JV team defeated Taylorville 25-16 and 25-22.

The Lincoln Freshman team lost in three sets, 21-18, 13-21 and 11-15.

Kloe Froebe and Peyton Sasse led the Lady Railers attack. Froebe had 15 kills and Sasse had 14 kills. Alyssa Company contributed 6 kills and Lily Holmes threw down 4 kills.

On the defensive side, Becca Heitzig led the team with 24 digs and Taryn Stoltzenburg and Kloe Froebe each had 19 digs. Lily Holmes had 11 digs and Addy Qualters had 10 digs.

Qualters also added 37 assists.

The Lady Railers improved their record to 27-6 on the season.

Lincoln will play at Bloomington tonight in the last regular season game, with the Freshman game beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The Lady Railers open regional action Monday night in Jacksonville.

Becca Heitzig 24 digs, 2 assists and 1 ace
