The Lady Railers JV team spent the weekend on
the volleyball court in Champaign and brought home second place
in the Champaign Centennial Tournament.
Lincoln compiled a 4-1 record in the tournament.
The Lady Railers defeated Champaign Central’s freshman team
25-16 and 25-16.
The Lady Railers then beat Peoria Richwoods 23-25, 25-19 and
15-12.
Lincoln also took down Peoria Notre Dame 25-21 and 25-16.
Lincoln also defeated Bradley 25-15 and 25-15.
In the championship match versus Normal Community, Lincoln lost
in three sets, 25-23, 18-25 and 15-17.
Piper Whiteman led the Lady Railers with 32 kills during the
tournament.
Jayden Behrends had 30 kills for Lincoln throughout the
tournament.
Kendal Long led the team with 68 digs.
Lauren Tedrick had a team-leading 110 assists for Lincoln.
Lincoln coach Emma Derry was proud of the girls finishing their
season on a high note.
“The girls really battled this weekend and put it all out
there,” said Derry. “I am so proud of them and the way the
season ended.”
The Lady Railers JV team ended the season with a record of
18-1-8.
