[October 25, 2022]  LINCOLN - M. Maxine Coombs, 92, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation:  10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Service:  11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home

Obituary

M. Maxine Coombs, 92, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Maxine was born on July 13, 1930, in Lincoln, the daughter of George and Goldie (Wyles) Routson. She married Robert Coombs Sr. on February 1, 1953, in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2016.

Maxine is survived by her children, Marsha Plymell, Suzette Robinson, and Robert (Valerie) Coombs Jr.; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; one daughter, Linda Reed; a grandson, David Reed; her siblings, George Routson Jr., Donna Atkins, and Gwendolyn Dixon; and son-in-laws, Ronald Plymell and Michael Robinson Sr.

Maxine was a homemaker her whole adult life. She was also a lifetime member of T.O.P.S weight loss group, maintaining her goal weight for forty plus years. Maxine enjoyed drinking her coffee with family and many friends around her kitchen table. She will be missed by all who knew her and her Copper Creek family.

Services for Maxine will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. A visitation will take place one hour prior from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will follow the service at New Union Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Maxine’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
