Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 34 of his 43 points in the second
half as host Milwaukee rallied to beat Brooklyn to improve to
3-0.
Antetokounmpo recorded his second straight 40-point game and
31st of his career, helping Milwaukee outscore the Nets 67-44
after halftime. The star forward shot 16 of 25, grabbed 14
rebounds, added five assists and also hit 10 of 14 free throws.
Kevin Durant scored 33 points for the Nets, who lost for the
third time in four games and also picked up five technical
fouls. Kyrie Irving added 27 for the Nets.
Raptors 119, 76ers 109
Gary Trent Jr. scored 21 of his 27 points in the second half as
Toronto defeated visiting Philadelphia.
Pascal Siakam added 20 points and matched his career best with
13 assists for the Raptors, who never trailed after the opening
three minutes en route to their second consecutive win. Scottie
Barnes added 16 points.
Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey each scored 31 for the 76ers, who
have lost four of their first five games. James Harden added 18
points and nine assists.
Nuggets 110, Lakers 99
Nikola Jokic compiled 31 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists and
four steals as host Denver pulled away for a win over Los
Angeles.
Bruce Brown scored 18 points, Jamal Murray scored 13 points and
Jeff Green scored 10 for the Nuggets. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
also had 13 points before spraining his left ankle on a drive
late in the third quarter.
Anthony Davis had 22 points and 14 rebounds while LeBron James
finished with 19 points, nine assists and eight turnovers for
the Lakers, one of just three winless teams in the NBA. Russell
Westbrook sat out due to a left hamstring injury.
Timberwolves 134, Spurs 122
Anthony Edwards scored 34 points and hit seven 3-pointers and
Minnesota defeated short-handed San Antonio to split a two-game
series between the teams in Minneapolis.
Minnesota did not record an offensive rebound in the contest.
However, the Timberwolves didn't need to crash the boards, as
they outshot San Antonio 65 percent to 45.3 percent and nailed
20 of 34 3-point attempts.
Jaylen Nowell scored 21 points for Minnesota, Karl-Anthony Towns
had 21 and Jaden McDaniels added 20. Keldon Johnson paced the
Spurs with 27 points, sinking five 3-pointers.
Bulls 124, Pacers 109
Zach LaVine scored a season-high 28 points, DeMar DeRozan
chipped in 17 and Andre Drummond grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds
to boost Chicago past visiting Indiana.
Chicago won its second straight on the strength of a balanced
attack, strong ball movement and diligent defense. Six Bulls
finished in double figures, with Nikola Vucevic (14 points),
Goran Dragic (13), Ayo Dosunmu (12) and Patrick Williams (10)
following LaVine and DeRozan.
Buddy Hield paced Indiana with 24 points while connecting on 7
of 12 attempts from 3-point range. Tyrese Haliburton notched 18
points and 11 assists as Indiana fell to 0-2 on a five-game road
trip.
Hawks 118, Pistons 113
Trae Young had 35 points and six assists and visiting Atlanta
handed Detroit its fourth straight loss.
John Collins supplied 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Hawks
while De'Andre Hunter tossed in 17 points before fouling out.
Dejounte Murray added 14 points, eight rebounds and eight
assists.
Bojan Bogdanovic led the Pistons with 33 points. Cade Cunningham
had 26 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Knicks 134, Hornets 131 (OT)
Jalen Brunson scored six of his 27 points in overtime as New
York recovered to beat visiting Charlotte after relinquishing a
fourth-quarter lead.
The Knicks never trailed after Brunson's go-ahead 3-pointer with
3:14 to play in the extra session. RJ Barrett notched 22 points
and Julius Randle had 17 for the Knicks, who led by 10 early in
the fourth quarter.
Gordon Hayward put up 21 points and P.J. Washington, Kelly Oubre
Jr. and reserve Jalen McDaniels all added 17 for the Hornets.
Hayward missed a potential winning shot, sending the game to
overtime.
Cavaliers 103, Magic 92
Evan Mobley scored 22 points and Jarrett Allen collected 18
points and 16 rebounds to fuel host Cleveland to a victory over
Orlando, which dropped to 0-5.
Mobley made 9 of 15 shots from the floor and Allen sank 7 of 11
to send the Cavs to their third straight victory.
Orlando's Paolo Banchero finished with 29 points to become the
third No. 1 overall pick in NBA history to score at least 20
points in his first five games. Hall of Famers Elvin Hayes (10
games, 1968-69) and Oscar Robertson (six games, 1960-61) also
accomplished the feat.
Utah 109, Rockets 101
Lauri Markkanen scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds and
Jordan Clarkson finished with 20 points as Utah held off Houston
for a win in Salt Lake City.
Talen Horton-Tucker and Malik Beasley each added 14 points and
Mike Conley contributed 13 for the Jazz, who avenged their only
loss of the season, a 114-108 setback in Houston on Monday, as
the teams completed a home-and-home set.
Kevin Porter Jr. helped make things interesting in the fourth
quarter, when he scored 15 of his 24 points as the Rockets
rallied from down 19 in the third quarter to pull within two
midway through the fourth quarter.
