An annual tradition during the local ballooning weekend is the Library Book Sale at the Lincoln Public Library. Last year the sale was offered to shoppers by appointment due to the pandemic. This year those restrictions were lifted and guests were able to come in and shop when they wanted and as long as they wanted.

Large paper bags provided by the Lincoln IGA could be purchased for $1 each. Shoppers could then load those bags as full as they were able to get them and make off with a large enough supply of reading material to last them through the winter ahead.

An LDN staffer was on hand Friday to do some personal shopping and reported back that there were tons of books available this year with several double rows of tables full and overflowing.

By Saturday afternoon that vast inventory was greatly reduced and shoppers were still coming and filling their bags.

In all, it must have been a very good weekend for the Lincoln Public Library and also for the shoppers who bought would probably have been hundreds of dollars worth of books for the low, low price of a buck.
