Annual Fitz-a-Palooza returns to Lincoln September 9th and 10th

[September 09, 2022]   LINCOLN - The annual Fitz-a-palooza fundraiser for Colorectal Cancer research and treatment will be held on Friday, September 9th, and Saturday, September 10th.

The Fitzpatrick family hosts the event in memory of Joe Fitzpatrick and Joni Marten.

After Joni was diagnosed in June 2013, a group of family and friends participated in the Undy 5K in Peoria. A few years later, Joe was diagnosed with colon cancer and unfortunately lost his battle in April 2017. Joni lost her battle in April 2020 after a remarkable seven-year cancer journey.

"In the past nine years, we have grown to hold our own event - Fitz-a-Palooza in our hometown of Lincoln. We do this to honor Joe and Joni and help all those affected by colorectal cancer in Logan County," said Kelly French.

Proceeds from the two-day event will benefit the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. The organization is a leader in supporting those affected by colorectal cancer, creating awareness about early detection, and funding research.
