Illinois Central College to Host Agriculture, Diesel, and Horticulture Career Showcase and Industry Immersion

 

[September 14, 2022]   Illinois Central College will host Agriculture, Diesel, and Horticulture Career Showcase and Industry Immersion on Friday, September 16, from 9 am to 2:30 pm for potential students to explore in-demand careers. Registration begins at 8:30 am.

The showcase, sponsored by Compeer Financial, provides attendees an opportunity to speak with ICC faculty and students, local employers and vendors, and industry specialists in agriculture, diesel, and horticulture.

The free event, which takes place on the ICC East Peoria campus, features a student and alumni panel Q&A session, industry speakers, and lunch. Representatives from 20+ local businesses will be on hand to talk about career opportunities in the agriculture, diesel-powered equipment, and horticulture industries. Tours of the Horticulture Center, and live demonstrations by current students using the latest technology in agricultural, construction, and heavy truck equipment will be offered.

"This day allows students to see firsthand what a career in these fields could mean for them. They'll hear from successful alumni and current students in the programs to gain a better understanding of the potential of these career paths," said ICC Agriculture and Industrial Technology Professor, Grant Grebner.

Attendees can learn more about ICC degrees, certificates, and "Earn and Learn" opportunities in these fields.
