Work
has been in process moving utilities to prepare for the
county section
of Fifth Street Road renovation which extends between
Interstate 55 and the
road into Middletown. Work includes straightening and
widening the roadway
for better access and economic expansion opportunities.
Lincoln Mayor Tracy Welch also commented recently to the
city council that the city portion of the land
acquisition for the project is almost complete and the
city will be looking at moving forward with the next
phase of its share of the work.

Canadian crude exports from the U.S. Gulf have
dropped in the last two months, falling to around 130,000
barrels per day (bpd) in July and August, below last year's pace
of 200,000 bpd, said Matt Smith, lead oil analyst for the
Americas at Kpler. Foreign buyers have turned to discounted
Russian barrels, tempering Canadian crude exports.
