[September 24, 2022] Albert Pujols made history with two home runs to reach 700 for his career and the visiting St. Louis Cardinals capped the night with a convincing 11-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.

Pujols hit a two-run homer in the third inning against left-hander Andrew Heaney and a three-run shot in the fourth against right-hander Phil Bickford as the Cardinals reduced their magic number for clinching the National League Central title to four.

Pujols, who has 21 home runs on the season, joined Babe Ruth (714), Hank Aaron (755) and Barry Bonds (762) in the 700 club.

St. Louis left-hander Jose Quintana (6-6) gave up five hits over 6 2/3 scoreless innings. The Dodgers' Heaney (3-3) allowed four runs on four hits in 3 2/3 innings as Los Angeles lost for the third time in four games.

Orioles 6, Astros 0

Dean Kremer threw a four-hit shutout, striking out six and walking two, as Baltimore beat visiting Houston.

Kremer has pitched for three seasons and had never thrown more than eight innings in a start.

The Astros lost for the third time in 13 games, and they haven't scored in consecutive games since sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays. Houston's Jose Urquidy (13-8) gave up one run in 5 1/3 innings.

Marlins 5, Nationals 2

Braxton Garrett, newly promoted from Triple-A, pitched six innings of one-run ball, leading host Miami past Washington.

Yankees 5, Red Sox 4

Aaron Judge remained at 60 homers but New York rallied to beat visiting Boston. The Yankees won on a two-out RBI single in the eighth by Jose Trevino.
