Lincoln Memorial Hospital to Provide Free Mammograms in October for 
		uninsured and underinsured women

		Lincoln Memorial Hospital will provide free breast cancer 
		screenings for women who are uninsured or underinsured during October as 
		part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 
		 
		The screenings will be offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, 
		October 1st and Saturday, October 15th at the nonprofit hospital. 
		 
		Appointments are required; no walk-ins are available. To schedule an 
		appointment, call 217-605-5108.

Educational materials, including information on general breast 
health and how to perform breast self-exams, will be available. Funding is 
provided by the Lincoln Memorial Foundation. 
The National Cancer Institute recommends that all women age 40 or 
older have screening mammograms annually. Breast cancer is the second leading 
cause of cancer death among women in the United States. 
 
Free mammograms will be offered at all five Memorial Health hospitals in 
Decatur, Jacksonville, Lincoln, Springfield and Taylorville throughout October.
