The
State average corn yield was 214 bushels per acre. The 2021 average
for the State was 202 bushels. Logan County had an average yield of
229.1 bushels per acre, which compared to the 2021 yield of 209.5.
Top yielding counties for 2022 were Stark with 240.6, Woodford with
235.7, Ogle with 234.7, DeWitt at 232.9, and Macon at 232.5 bushels
per acre. The top producing county in bushels was McLean County with
70,981,000. Logan County produced 40,253,000 bushels from 175,700
acres harvested. The high year for Logan County was 2018 with 236.2.
The State average soybean yield was 63 bushels per acre. Logan
County once again had enough survey respondents to establish an
individual county yield, with an average of 71.8. This establishes a
new high yield, with the prior high being set in 2018 at 70.1.
The top producing soybean counties were Piatt with 74.2, Macon 73.8,
Sangamon 72.7, Scott 72.1, and Logan at 71.8 bushels per acre. The
top producing county was once again McLean County with 21,186,000
bushels.
Logan County led the State in wheat yield with 102.5 bushels per
acre, with 1210 acres harvested. Logan also led the state in oat
yield at 114.3 bushels per acre from 230 acres. These are very minor
crops in Logan County as seen from the acres grown.

preliminary when released and may be corrected. Some years did not
have enough respondents to publish a yield on an individual county
