Marilyn Joyce Endicott Bush

Marilyn Joyce Endicott Bush passed peacefully away
on March 29, 2023 in Fresno at the home of her
oldest daughter, where she has lived for the past 3
½ years. Her service on April 8 will be a
Celebration of her life at the home of her daughter
in Turlock, CA. She will be interred at Mt. Vernon
Memorial Gardens, Jefferson County, Illinois.
Marilyn was born August 24, 1932 in Mt. Vernon, to
Goldie Pearl and Walter Endicott. She graduated High
School in Mt. Vernon and attended Lincoln Bible
Institute in Lincoln, where she met and on January
19, 1951, married Frank C Bush, Jr. They served in
ministries in Cornland, Catlin, Greenville,
Scottsbluff, NE, and Lincoln.
Marilyn spent over 50 years of her life as the wife
of a pastor and a volunteer in the churches where
they served. She felt called by God to serve the
most vulnerable by working with children’s
ministries and then senior care both as a caregiver
and an Activity Director. She made up elaborate
stories that she told her grandchildren, had a great
sense of humor, and was known for puppets and skits,
clown costumes and music in her activities. Her
faith shown in all she did, even to her last days.
The love of Jesus, learned as a young girl, was
passed on to her children and grandchildren, to her
great-grandchildren and her caregivers. She saw all
of her work and life as a ministry and spent many
hours of unpaid time to make sure she took care of
others, told the message of Christ, and did her work
with excellence.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 65
years, Frank C Bush Jr.; granddaughter Arah Marie
Bush; parents, Goldie Pearl and Walter Endicott; her
sisters June and Donna and brother Lyle. Surviving
her are her five children Paula Lynette (John)
McElwee; Michael Dennis (Jennifer Foos) Bush; Karen
Ellen (David) Williams; David Brian (Donna Brown)
Bush and Melanie Ann (Jeff) Clawson; her 15
grandchildren two step-grandchildren, 25 great
grandchildren and two step- great grandchildren. |
