Two LCHS Seniors Selected as Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Awardees

[April 21, 2023]    Two Lincoln Community High School Seniors have been selected as scholarship recipients of the Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Trust. They are Emma Grace Boyd and Gracelyn Keith.

Mr. Arthur Larson established a scholarship trust in 1994 as a permanent memorial for his wife, Lucille Flick Larson. Mrs. Larson taught school for 38 years. She was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School, and she attended Lincoln College, Normal Teachers’ College, and the University of Michigan. Throughout her career she dedicated herself to excellence in education and provided a caring haven for her students. Heartland Bank and Trust Company is the trustee of the Lucille Flick Larson Scholarship Trust.

Awardees receive at least $1,250 per semester for up to eight semesters of their undergraduate career if they maintain a “B” average. Only graduating seniors of Lincoln Community High School are eligible for selection.

Emma Grace Boyd, the daughter of Brandon and Sarah Boyd, plans to attend Greenville University to major in Music Education.

Gracelyn Keith, the daughter of Ryan and Jennifer Keith, plans to attend Eastern Illinois University to major in English and Spanish Education.
