[April 21, 2023]  ATLANTA - Carol E. Estes, 86, of Atlanta, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family members, on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to Noon Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Atlanta Christian Church

Service: Noon Wednesday, at the church

Obituary

Carol E. Estes, 86, of Atlanta, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family members, on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Services for Mrs. Estes are planned for Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Atlanta Christian Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Mr. Paul Weber officiating. Burial will follow at the Atlanta Cemetery.

Carol Elaine Leesman was born July 24, 1936, in Atlanta, the daughter of Clarence and Clara M. Gillard Leesman. She was united in marriage to Jack A. Estes on September 23, 1966, in Lincoln. He survives.

Carol is also survived by two children: Richard (Natalie) Estes and Staci (Clint Gordon) Estes; three grandchildren: Cayden Gordon, Makayla McCartney and Kaitlyn McCartney; three brothers: Wayne (Margaret) Leesman, Gary Leesman, and Larry (Glenna) Leesman; and one sister, Darlene Leesman.

Funeral Director

She was preceded in death by one infant son, Bradley.

Carol was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church. She was a frequent volunteer at church and at The Christian Village in Lincoln. She gave of her time and talents to anyone in need. Carol loved being outside, especially planting flowers and gardening. Carol loved spending time with her grandson and family, and she loved Haribo gummy bears. She had worked at the Lincoln Garment Factory in the office for many years.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Atlanta Christian Church.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
