[August 03, 2023]  COLCHESTER - Evana Marie Cassel, 78, of Colchester passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at her nephew's home in Danvers.

Visitation:  A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday July 28, 2023, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Colchester City Hall

Service:  Private family burial Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, Augusta

Funeral home: Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta

Obituary

Evana Marie Cassel, 78, of Colchester passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at her nephew's home in Danvers.

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday July 28, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Colchester City Hall (500 East Robert Street). Private family burial will take place on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery (E Co Rd 150 Augusta, IL).

Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Evana Marie Cassel was born on July 29, 1944, in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Samuel and Ellen (Walton) Cassel.

She is survived by her nephew Tom (Jody) Cassel, and their children: Samantha, Jordan and Jacob Cassel, aunts, an uncle, and many cousins and friends she held dear to her heart.

Funeral Director

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Samuel E. Cassel.

Evana graduated from Colchester High School in 1962. She played softball for the Colchester Cyclones for thirteen years. Her proudest moment in her life was when her nephew Tom was born and then his children.

Memorials may be made to the Colchester Ball Program or to her great niece and nephew in care of Tom Cassel.
