The rain may have poured but only briefly and certainly not long
enough to damper any spirits Wednesday morning at the Open Horse
Show. It was held at the fairgrounds at 10 a.m. in fresh, cool and a
bit breezy air.

The horse show featured many events including
Western Showmanship for both 18 years and under and 19 years and
older; Open Horse Halter, Open walk-trot, riders 12 years old and
over; Open Poles, Barrels, Open Barrels, Open Flags and many more. A
crowd watched on to see lots of great entertainment.
The day also honored Superintendent Les Payne, who
after 40 plus years as Logan County Fair Horse Show Superintendent,
retired after today's show, in which he also served as the
announcer. Desserts were served to help celebrate him after the
conclusion of the day.
