of the Illinois Principals Association

Mr. Fred Lamkey, the Superintendent of Mount
Pulaski CUSD #23, has been awarded the Superintendent of the Year
Award by the Abe Lincoln Region of the Illinois Principals
Association.

This
award is determined through the administrative voting membership of
the Illinois Principals Association in Menard, Logan, DeWitt, Macon,
Piatt, Moultrie, Shelby, Christian, and Sangamon counties.
Mr. Lamkey has served as the Superintendent of Mount Pulaski schools
since 2019. Prior to that, he served as the Superintendent at
Edinburg.
A Tri-City High School graduate, Mr. Lamkey started
out as a history teacher, transitioning to the role of principal
before taking on the superintendency. He is a graduate of Illinois
State University and the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Mr. Lamkey will retire at the end
of the 2023-2024 school year. We congratulate him on this much
