The Kickapoo Indians, including the Kickapoo Village located near
Lincoln, and the mounds located at Lake Fork when there actually was
a lake, will be the topic presented by Researcher Gary Dodson during
the 6:30 p.m. Monday, August 21st meeting of the Logan County
Genealogical and Historical Society.

Dodson
plans to tell the story of the Kickapoo Tribe members as they found
their way from Ohio to the Great Lakes region, and traveled into
Central Illinois, until eventually being chased out, into Missouri
and Kansas.
Among American Indian items to be displayed are Kachina dolls, pots,
and arrowheads. Refreshments will be served following a brief
business meeting. The public is invited to
attend this event at the LCGHS building located at 114 N. Chicago
St., across the street from the Logan County Tourism Bureau and
Lincoln Depot.
