Obituary
Thomas Dalton Bowden, 90, of
Springfield, passed away August 4, 2023.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry
& Bennett Funeral Home, Lincoln. There will be no
services at this time.
Thomas was born April 23, 1933, in Poplar Bluff,
MO., the son of Hershel A. Bowden and Dorothy M.
Clark Bowden. After his mother passed, he was raised
by his father and Adeline Bowden.
Mr. Bowden graduated from high school in Poplar
Bluff. MO. and proudly served his country in the
United States Army. He married Peggy Bricker on
February 11, 1988. He was employed by the Illinois
Department of Children and Family Services for many
years. He enjoyed golf, fishing, playing pool and
cards, and wood carving. |
Survivors include his wife Peggy Bowden, son Steven Thomas
(Susan) Bowden, daughter Cynthia Louise (Paul) Young, grandchildren: Grant
Bowden and Jamie Bowden, brothers: H.A. Bowden and David Bowden, nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeffrey Bowden, and sister Clarkie
Jane Holden.
Memorial donations may be made to the APL in Springfield.
