[August 21, 2023]  LINCOLN -  Donald Glen Hoover, 82, of Lincoln, passed away August 4, 2023 at Copper Creek Cottages Memory Care, Lincoln.

Service:  Burial will be at a later date in Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Donald Glen Hoover, 82, of Lincoln, passed away August 4, 2023 at Copper Creek Cottages Memory Care, Lincoln.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Don was born July 15, 1941, in Kalamazoo, MI., the son of Glen and Charlotte (Ebling) Hoover. He spent his first 20 years in Tanzania and Kenya on the mission field. Don graduated from the Rift Valley Academy High School in Kenya and later proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married Debra Kay Anderson on July 20, 1980.

Don worked with the Youth for Christ in Kalamazoo, MI. and 4 years with the Youth for Christ in Valence, France. He pastored Lincoln Bible Church for over 20 years until he retired. He also led Celebrate Recovery at Jefferson Street Christian Church and was a volunteer Chaplain for the Logan County jail for 13 years.

Survivors include his wife Debra Hoover, son in the faith Edward Tibbits, brother Jim Hoover, brother-in-law Steven Van Nattan, sister-in-law Thelma Hoover and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bruce Hoover, and sister Elizabeth Van Nattan .

The family is very grateful for the loving care Don received over the last 10 months.
