Obituary
Douglas Richard Leesman, 74, of
Lincoln (formerly of Emden), passed away on Tuesday,
August 22nd, in the comfort of his own home.
Doug was born on August 19, 1949, in Lincoln, the
son of Richard A. Leesman and Carolyn Rebecca (Nolling)
Sams. He married Melody Naylor in 1978. They later
divorced.
Doug is survived by his mother: Carolyn Rebecca Sams,
daughter: Stephanie Ann Leesman, and sister: Kathryn
Rebecca Webb all of Mt. Pulaski. He is also survived
by his grandchildren: William Austin Troxell and
Allison Rebecca Delatorre.
He is preceded in death by his father: Richard A.
Leesman, and step-father Julian “J.T.” Sams.
Doug served his country for two years in the United
States Army during the Vietnam War era. He went on
to work at Caterpillar for many years before he
retired. In his spare time, he enjoyed both Drag Car
and NASCAR racing. |
Most of all, Doug enjoyed being
outdoors and living in his country home in rural
Emden. It was there you could find him working in
the yard, enjoying the farm life, and being an avid
collector of John Deer tractors.
Services for Doug will be at 11 a.m.
on Tuesday, August 29th at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski with Casey McCormick
officiating. Visitation will take place two hours
prior to the service on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11

Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be
