[December 01, 2023]    He’s making a list and checking it twice before flying back to the North Pole to report to Santa Claus, but in the meantime Sprout the Elf on the Shelf is teaming up with Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom (IAITC) to teach fun agriculture facts in a new free resource booklet.

“Each year teachers and families make new memories through the ever-popular Elf on the Shelf tradition during the holiday season,” said Kevin Daugherty, IAITC education director. “We wanted to put our own twist on this holiday favorite while providing access to free resources to teach kids the value of agriculture.”

The Elf on the Shelf with IAITC resource booklet contains ideas for 20 agriculture-themed Elf on the Shelf scenes, complete with example photos, materials needed, setup information and a suggested note from Sprout. Each idea also contains book recommendations, ag facts to share and activities to pair.

View and download the entire booklet at Elf on the Shelf (agintheclassroom.org), or plan ahead utilizing IAITC full materials list to gather everything needed for extrav-ag-ant elf fun at Elf on the Shelf Full Materials List (agintheclassroom.org).

Those using the resource book are encouraged to share their Spout-inspired Elf shenanigans with IAITC on social media.
