Over this past weekend the new Mystic Greenz Cannabis Dispensary in Lincoln hosted a grand opening event beginning with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday morning.

Two of the three owners of the business were present and spoke before snipping the ribbon. Tiffany Jackson spoke first thanking the community for its support, before introducing Krishna Balakrishnan.

The Lincoln City Council will meet this evening, Monday, December 4th for the first regular voting meeting of the month. On the agenda will be a motion to approve a concept design for a new mural to be hung on the north side of the Rio Grande Restaurant in downtown Lincoln. The mural will overlook the welcome garden at the corner of Pekin and Kickapoo Streets.

The design for the mural was created by Scott Lindley of Mt. Pulaski and if approved, Lindley will work on the project in his studio this winter with intentions of having the mural mounted early next spring. The concept art features a collection of photos and artwork depicting the historical landmarks of Lincoln and Route 66. The center image of the Logan County Courthouse will be altered to reflect the new copper dome.

It should be noted that the flat gray at the top and bottom of the image shown is not part of the mural.
