To the editor: Coming to the
end of an Era…. Saturday September 30th, 2023 was Pink Shutter’s
last day open.
At the end of close we couldn’t leave without one
last picture…. Jeff Board, Linda McCaun, Linda Mourning, Julie
Barger, Angie Whiteman, Sharon Rohlfs, Barb Sahs, Joyce Board and
Nick Board.
We finally get Victor Board in the pic after taking down the Pink
Shutters sign as we try to convince Rocky [dog] to join the group.
Rocky had to make his last round to see if
anything was overlooked or his last-minute shopping.
We finally convinced Rocky to pose (with a
customer) & put on a smile.

Scott Board finally arrives for the last good-bye.
Such a sad day for soooo many of us in Lincoln & others who traveled
in to shop here!!! Pink Shutters Will so be MISSED!
You can now see the Pink Shutters sign at Family
Custom Cleaners.
I am writing this letter to ALL OF YOU AT PINK SHUTTER:
“Lincoln has lost a place that many of us have shopped for so many
years. For many of us raising children on our own [you made it]
affordable for us, [or those] looking to save money [or] a rare
find, it was very heartbreaking to hear it was going to happen!
“Jennifer Heidbreder was there for us 33 years. You could always
receive a greeting & a smile from her. She would even listen to your
stories & keep things running great!
“And the volunteers there were the best!! Some have since passed,
but none of you will ever be forgotten!! There were sooo many that I
couldn't even begin to name them all.
“It was "BECAUSE OF ALL OF YOU .... THAT KEPT IT GOING FOR SO
LONG!!!
"I want to THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING you did for sooo many of
us.... We will sorely miss you and our Pink Shutters!!!!"
Yours Truly,
Julie Barger
