Obituary

David Eugene Leetham, age 56, of Hillsboro, passed away November 29, 2023 in Lincoln.

He was born March 30, 1967, in Hillsboro, Illinois to Carl E. “Sonny” and Carol Ann (Ewald) Leetham.

David graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1985. He worked for Schutt Manufacturing and he served in the US Navy. He was an outdoorsman, having always enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and riding dirt bikes. He was also a lover of all animals, his music, and socializing with friends.

He married Melissa Kruger and they later divorced.

He is survived by his father Carl “Sonny” (wife April) Leetham of Hillsboro, two brothers Kevin (wife Jenny) Leetham and Randy (wife Holly) Leetham both of Hillsboro, as well as nieces and a nephew Alexis, Alec, and Alivia Leetham, and a great-nephew Colton Powell-Leetham.

He was preceded in death by his mother Carol and his grandparents.

Memorials can be directed to Paws Care.

A visitation will be held Monday, December 4, 2023, from 10 a.m. to Noon with a funeral service to follow. Services will be held at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Troy White officiating. Burial will be in Waveland Cemetery in Hillsboro.
