 Eden
was one of several students throughout the state of Illinois who
auditioned for this elite group. 206 recorded auditions were
submitted from 56 cities (most in the Chicago area). Only 79 junior
high school musicians were selected. Eden ranked eighth out of all
the trumpet players who auditioned.
Eden, along with her parents Brian and Sarah Lowery and band
director Peggy Larson will be traveling to Champaign/Urbana in
January to participate in this two day band event. The weekend will
culminate with a final concert held in the beautiful Krannert Center
for the Performing Arts on the campus of University of Illinois.
Eden, a trumpet player since fourth grade, is very active in the
LJHS band program. She is a member of the concert band, pep band,
and jazz band.
