Obituary

Rev. Steven R. Blaum, 71, of Lincoln, passed away at Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Saturday, December 2, 2023.

Steven was born on December 17, 1951, in Lincoln, the son of George and Carleen (Hansen) Blaum III. He is survived by his siblings, Bill Blaum of Traverse City, MI, Sharon Bryant of Lincoln, Joyce Bryant of Heber Springs, AR, and Kevin Blaum of Traverse City, MI.

He was dad to Rachel (deceased), Sarah Blaum and Abbey Blaum both of Indianapolis, IN. Steven had five grandchildren.

Steven had been a pastor for fifty years, most recently with Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lincoln; having had churches in New Holland/Middletown, Deland, Bement, Memphis, TN and Mesquite, TX. He was an award-winning artist, a terrific cook, and an avid fisherman. He loved gardening and could grow almost anything. Steven was always ready for a silly joke, or a kind word of encouragement. He had helped so many that needed a hand up.

Memorials may be made in Steven’s name to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for the mission fund or to the Humane Society of Logan County. He loved animals of all kinds.

A celebration of Steven’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
