The
Lincoln Police Department is proud to introduce our new Dutch
Shepherd, Diesel and we welcome him to our team! Diesel has been
certified by the State of Illinois to detect the odor of illegal
drugs, track to assist in the apprehension of suspects or locate
missing people and conduct “article searches”, which are searches
for a discarded object. Diesel’s handler, Officer Chris Phillips,
has also been certified to deploy and handle Diesel during law
enforcement activities.
Lincoln Police Officers understand that narcotics enforcement is
important in reducing violent and property crimes alike. Diesel is a
powerful asset in our endeavor to reduce the amount of illegal drugs
and crime in our community. We hope he has a long and successful
career keeping our community safer.
[Joseph Meister
Chief of Police
Lincoln Police Department]
