The
Lady Railers defeated the Champaign Centennial Chargers on Monday
night 78-11 in Champaign.
Lincoln was led in scoring by Kloe Froebe with 33 points.
Centennial is a young team that actually canceled their Varsity
season last year so that was the first strike against them. And when
up against the Uber-talented Lincoln Lady Railers, well that’s
easily strike two. So with that being said, Lincoln shut out the
Chargers 29-0 in the first quarter. Kloe Froebe poured in 21 points
in the first quarter.
The Chargers scored early in the second quarter to make the score
29-2 but the Lady Railers continued to dominate and by the half
Lincoln led 46-4.
In the third quarter the Lady Railer starters saw limited action,
but before they exited the game they worked on their shooting from
the outside. Jenna Bowman started the quarter with back-to-back
threes, then Froebe and Becca Heitzig added threes. All of this
scoring was done in the first one minute and ten seconds into the
quarter. After Tori Geriets scored in the paint, the Lincoln lead
was 60-4. With all of the starters on the bench by the 5:40 mark,
the second string came in and practiced their long-range shooting
too. Mesa McCloud hit one three and Lily Holmes hit two threes as
Lincoln shut out the Chargers in the third quarter, gaining a 73-4
lead.
Grace Schneider, Mia Clark and Ceana Adams each scored in the fourth
quarter for Lincoln. The Chargers actually outscored Lincoln 7-5
here and set the final score at 78-11.
Lincoln improves to 12-0 on the season.
The Lincoln JV team won 68-22 over Centennial.
Mia Clark led the team with 19 points.
Makinley Knapp tossed in 16 points.
The JV team improves to 10-0 on the season.
Lincoln will host Decatur Eisenhower tonight.
The JV game will tip-off at 5:30 p.m.
The Varsity game will tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
